St. Panteleimon, Patron Saint of St. Haralambos Philoptochos Society
WHO WE ARE
The St. Haralambos Ladies Philoptochos Society meets every first Monday starting in September and ending the year in April. General Meetings start at 6:30 pm preceded by a Board Meeting at 5:30 pm in the Tri-Room at the church. There is always a guest speaker and refreshments.
We are the ladies of the church. We are there to help the needy, to offer assistance to anyone who may need the help of the Church through our fundraising efforts. We financially help the National Philoptochos and our Diocese of Pittsburgh obligation to also help those in need.
We also meet to participate and help support the activities of our church.
We are known for these events and fundraisers:
Annual Rummage Sale. Bake Sale. Community Giving Tree. 2008 Vintage Style Show and Entertainment Luncheon. Sale of Philoptochos Cookbooks. Sponsor of the 2009 Daffodil Luncheon for the Diocese of Pittsburgh. Annual Mother's Day Dinner. Visitation to shut-in's at home and in nursing homes. Sunday Coffee Hours after church.
We are there to set a beautiful table for these special events:
Pan-Orthodox Choir Christmas Concert. Pre-Sanctified Liturgies. Funeral Committee. Vasilopita Sunday. The St. Haralambos Vespers and Nameday Luncheon.
We have raised money to remodel the Tri-Room and we decorate the church and its adjoining rooms for the Christmas season and at Easter, the Epitaphion.
